Tuition Refund Periods For Academic Year 2017-2018
Georgetown University’s Office of Billing and Payment Services is responsible for reporting and collecting Georgetown University tuition and fees at the direction of the University Registrar. Accordingly, the University Registrar maintains the refund schedule.
Refund period dates and percentages are derived from GU SFS Qatar Academic Calendar, University policy for course withdrawal published in GU’s Undergraduate or Graduate Bulletins, or other relevant bulletins. Standard refund periods for Main Campus Undergraduate and Graduate students during this academic year are found below
Should a student voluntarily withdraw from courses, credit for tuition will be calculated by the date of the student’s official notice to the Dean, according to periods and percentages listed below.
1st - 2nd Weeks 100% Refund Aug. 20 – Sept. 2
3rd - 4th Weeks 80% Refund Sept. 3 – Sept. 16
5th - 6th Weeks 70% Refund Sept. 17 – Sept. 30
7th - 8th Weeks 50% Refund Oct. 1 – Oct. 14
9th Week 40% Refund Oct. 15 – Oct. 21
Tuition will not be refunded for withdrawals after October 21.

3rd - 4th Weeks 80% Refund Jan. 21 - Feb. 3
5th - 6th Weeks 70% Refund Feb. 4 - Feb. 17
7th - 8th Weeks 50% Refund Feb. 18 - Mar. 3
9th Week 40% Refund Mar. 4 - Mar. 10
Tuition will not be refunded for withdrawals after March 10.
Course Fees: Individual courses may have fees (ex. Lab, Materials, Travel, Performance..) required for enrollment in the course. Fees are published in a course’s “Detailed Class Information” page (in semester online Schedule of Classes, click on highlighted course title to view course details, including any fees.)
Course lab or materials fees automatically are removed from a student’s account when the student officially Drops the course during the semester’s Registration Add/Drop Period. Course Fees are not refunded for courses from which a student Withdraws after the semester’s Add/Drop Period has ended.
