Fall 2025 University Registrar Welcome and Registration Update

Dear Georgetown Students,
Welcome to Fall 2025!
I’m excited to greet you as we begin a new semester full of opportunities for learning, growth, and achievement. Below you’ll find key information to help you get started, along with important registration details and resources to ensure a smooth and successful academic experience.
The academic calendar is available on the Registrar’s website at registrar.georgetown.edu/academic-calendar. You may also view the multi-year main campus academic calendar there.
Registration Resources
- GUExperience: Your academic portal for registering, waitlisting/adding/dropping classes, viewing grades, requesting transcripts, checking your degree audit, and more. User guides and videos are available on the Registrar’s website.
- NetID: For help with your NetID or password, contact the UIS Service Center at help@georgetown.edu or visit the UIS Service Desk in the Leavey Center Bookstore.
- Registrar’s Website: Includes all important registration dates.
- Waitlist: The automatic waitlist is closed. Any remaining open seats may be added in GUExperience through the last day of add/drop, Friday, September 5, provided you meet course prerequisites and restrictions.
- Schedule of Classes: Use the Schedule of Classes site to view class offerings, syllabi, and required/recommended books.
- Course Materials: Required and recommended textbooks are available via the “View Textbook” link in the Schedule of Classes. Once registered, you may also order books directly through GUExperience.
- Withdrawal & Refunds: Visit the Withdrawal & Refund Schedule site for details.
- Student Services Center: Offers online solutions to many inquiries, plus in-person support at the Hilltop on the ground floor of White Gravenor and at the Capitol Campus at 111 Massachusetts Avenue on the 4th Floor. Use the Student Services Center Request Form for assistance with Enrollment, Financial Aid, or Student Accounts.
- Accessibility Resources: Visit Accessibility at Georgetown to learn about resources supporting an inclusive and accessible learning environment. For example, Zoom’s default settings now make automated captions easier to enable. Instructions are available on the Zoom automated captions page.
Important Dates* – Fall 2025
- August 27 – First day of classes; add/drop period begins
- September 1 – No classes; University closed for Labor Day
- September 5 – Last day of add/drop; last day to drop without a grade of W
- Extension for Tuesday-only classes: Students may add/drop Tuesday-only classes until Wed, Sept 11. Related schedule changes are also permitted. These requests cannot be made online—you must contact your advisor, who will submit an exception form on your behalf. Be sure to provide your advisor with the course number, CRN, title, and meeting pattern for any affected courses. All other courses remain due Sept 5.
- September 6 – Withdrawal period for full-session courses begins in GUExperience. See Withdrawal & Refund Schedule site for details and deadlines for all modules and sessions.
(*Students in GU-Q, MSB, and SON should consult their programs for additional dates and deadlines.)
