Fall 2024 University Registrar Welcome and Registration Update

Dear Georgetown Students,

Welcome to a new academic year! I am thrilled to extend my warmest greetings and a heartfelt welcome to each of you. 

I trust this message finds you eager, inspired, and ready to embark on a journey of intellectual exploration, personal growth, and achievement. The details provided below are designed to assist you in navigating the initial days of the semester and furnish you with important registration information and resources to guide you towards a successful academic journey.

Registration Resources: 

  • GUExperienceThe official student academic information portal where you can login using your NetId and password to register, waitlist/add/drop classes, view your grades, request a transcript, view your degree audit, and so much more. User guides and videos are available on the Registrar’s website
  • NetID: For help or questions about your NetID and password contact the UIS Service Center at help@georgetown.edu or visit the UIS Service Desk in the Leavey Center Bookstore.
  • OUR Website: includes all important registration dates.
  • Schedule of Classes: View the Schedule of Classes site for class offerings, syllabi and a list of required and recommended books.
  • Course Materials: Information on required textbooks and recommended course materials are available through the “View Textbook” link on the Schedule of Classes website so students can make informed decisions about their courses. Once you are registered for a course, you have the option of ordering the books from the Bookstore through GUExperience.
  • Withdrawal/Refunds: For withdrawal and refund information, visit the Withdrawal & Refund Schedule site. 
  • The Student Services Center website and knowledge articles offer online solutions to many student inquiries and our office on the ground floor of White Gravenor provides a one-stop shop for all your Enrollment, Financial Aid and Student Accounts needs. Use the Student Services Center Request Form for any queries. 
  • Accessibility Resources: Visit the Accessibility at Georgetown website to learn about the  resources available to students that help make our classrooms, campus and the student experience more inclusive and accessible. For example, Georgetown has updated the institutional default setting for Zoom to allow community members to more easily enable automated captions. The Zoom automated captions page includes instruction and more information.

FALL 2024 CLASSES BEGIN WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 28, 2024. (GUQ,MSB and SON students should consult with their programs for a complete list of important dates and deadlines.)

September 2No Classes, University Closed in observance of Labor Day
September 3Classes follow Monday schedule

Last day for waitlist; winner claims seat on September 5 by 3pm. Any remaining open seats will become available for students to add in GUExperience until the last day of add/drop, Friday, September 6, provided they meet the course prerequisites and any restrictions.

Add/Drop ends; Last Day to Drop Without the Grade of W
 
September 7
 
Withdrawal period for full session courses begins in GUExperience
