SFS in Qatar, Tuition, Fees, and Refunds

Georgetown University’s Office of Billing and Payment Services is responsible for reporting and collecting Georgetown University tuition and fees at the direction of the University Registrar. Accordingly, the University Registrar maintains the refund schedule.
Refund period dates and percentages below are derived from  GU SFS Qatar Academic Calendar, GU institutional policy for course withdrawal published in GU’s Undergraduate Bulletin and Graduate Bulletin, and GU standard Refund Periods  published on the Office of Billing and Payment Services website.
Should a student voluntarily withdraw from courses, credit for tuition will be calculated by the date of the student’s official notice to the Dean, according to periods and percentages listed below.
Fall 2013
1st - 2nd Weeks          100% Refund Sept. 2 - Sept. 15
3rd - 4th Weeks           80% Refund    Sept. 16 - Sept. 29
5th - 6th Weeks           70% Refund     Sept. 30 - Oct. 13
7th - 8th Weeks           50% Refund     Oct. 14 - Oct. 27
9th Week                     40% Refund     Oct. 28 - Nov.  3
Tuition will not be refunded for withdrawals after November 3.
Spring 2014
1st - 2nd Weeks          100% Refund   Jan. 13 - Jan. 26
3rd - 4th Weeks           80% Refund     Jan. 27 - Feb. 9
5th - 6th Weeks           70% Refund     Feb. 10 - Feb. 23
7th - 8th Weeks           50% Refund     Feb. 24 - Mar. 9
9th Week                     40% Refund     Mar. 10 - Mar. 16
Tuition will not be refunded for withdrawals after March 16.
Course Lab or Material Fees: Individual course Lab or Materials Fees may be charged for enrollment in a particular course. Course fees are published with individual course listings in GU’s online Schedule of Classes published at A course lab or materials fee automatically will be removed from the student’s account if the student officially drops the course during the semester’s Add/Drop Period.  Course Fees are not refunded for courses from which the student Withdraws after the semester’s Registration Add/Drop Period has ended.
