Tutorial Information and Forms
The Registration Team facilitates the creation of unique independent study classes (301
for undergraduates or 901 for graduates) with a faculty member that have a custom title.
These unique classes run for only one semester. (Please note: senior honor classes are not
created by the registration team since these run every academic year).
Undergraduate students will bring the Undergraduate Tutorial Course Form to an
instructor because they are interested in participating in coursework guided by the faculty
member. Undergraduate students should gather all the appropriate approvals and bring
that completed form to their academic dean /advisor or Undergraduate Deans’ Office for
their approval.
Graduate students follow the same guidance but they will bring a copy of the completed
Graduate Tutorial Form to their program advisor. Their program advisor will forward
their tutorial to the appropriate decanal contact at GSAS/MSB/BGE for approval.
