Student Parking Acknowledgment Task Added in GU Experience

Highlights: The Office of the University Registrar has implemented a new mandatory Parking Acknowledgment task in GU Experience to streamline how students review and agree to campus parking regulations. Students will be required to submit their acknowledgment through GU Experience prior to registering for classes.

The implementation follows a two-phased approach to ensure a smooth transition for students as the university reinforces its 2016 20-year Campus Plan commitments. Ahead of the upcoming academic year, the Office of the University Registrar, in collaboration with University Information Services (UIS), has developed a new proactive process in GU Experience. During the initial rollout for the fall semester, the acknowledgment requirement will appear automatically upon login. For this phase, it will be introduced as a hold without registration impacts or immediate consequences on student accounts, creating space for any questions students may have. Starting with the registration cycle for the spring semester, however, completion of the digital acknowledgment will become strictly mandatory. This enforcement phase will apply a registration hold to student accounts, which will prevent spring registration until the acknowledgment task is successfully completed. Undergraduate students will only be required to complete this requirement once during their academic tenure at Georgetown.

This digital acknowledgment addresses a compliance gap by ensuring all active students are fully aware of Georgetown’s parking policies, neighborhood restrictions, and transportation options before bringing a vehicle to the area.

Students will still have the ability to review their submitted acknowledgments and access detailed parking policy documentation through GU Experience at any time during the academic year.
