Dynamic Live Registration
Highlights Georgetown University transitioned its student registration system from a highly customized, legacy “pre-registration” process to a modernized Dynamic Live Registration system. This was a critical first phase in the university’s upgrade roadmap to the cloud-based Banner 9 environment.
The move to live registration addressed a major operational gap that students and faculty had navigated for years, which was the inaccuracy, manual intervention, and delayed results of the outdated pre-registration software.
Students now have the ability to know their class schedule immediately upon registering, use mobile devices to enroll, and see real-time waitlist and reserved seating availability.
In addition to improving the student experience, this transition is the first toward our efforts to eliminate over 1,800 unsustainable custom objects, allowing advisors to spend less time troubleshooting system errors and more time guiding students on their academic paths.
