Dear Students,

We hope this message finds you well and enjoying your academic journey at Georgetown. We are writing to inform you about an important update regarding the fees for paper transcript requests.

Effective July 3, 2023, there will be new charges associated with paper transcript requests as described in the Board of Directors’ Approved Tuition and Fee Rates for 2023-2024. Fees are associated only with paper transcript requests and will be charged as follows:

Request for in-person pickup at the Registrar’s Office: $20;
Regular USPS Mailed within the US: $15*;
Regular USPS Mailed to International Addresses (and U.S. Territories): $30*;

*Note: Additional fees will be applied for priority or expedited mail service requests (eg. FedEx, UPS, Overnight, Priority) .

As an institution, we continuously strive to provide the highest quality of education and support services to our students. In recent years, the cost of administrative tasks has increased significantly, including processing and issuing paper transcripts. These service costs encompass printing, postage, and the personnel involved in ensuring accurate and timely delivery of your academic records.

It’s important to note that electronic transcript requests remain free of charge. We strongly encourage you to consider this convenient and eco-friendly option, as it not only eliminates the associated fees, but also expedites the delivery process. Electronic transcripts are typically delivered securely and can be sent directly to institutions or individuals the same day requested, saving you time and money. By streamlining the process and allocating resources effectively, we aim to enhance the overall transcript request service.

For detailed information about the new fees, please refer to our updated fee schedule available on the University Registrar’s website or contact the Office of the University Registrar. Our dedicated staff members are ready to assist you and answer any questions you may have regarding this change.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we strive to provide you with the best educational services. We appreciate your commitment to your academic goals and look forward to supporting you throughout your time at Georgetown and in your future endeavors.

Best regards,
Annamarie Bianco
Associate Vice President and University Registrar
