Welcome home HOYAs! I hope you too are excited to be starting a new academic year, especially those students who are new to Georgetown;you are joining one of the finest learning communities in America, and we are glad you’re here.The following information will help you through the first few days of school and give you a good start on the path to success this semester.

Fri. Aug. 12

Payment is due. Late fees may be applied after the due date for students who do not pay or arrange a payment plan. See the Office of Billing and Payment Services for more information

Wed. Aug. 28

First day of classes following a Monday schedule

Thu. Sept. 5

Last day for waitlist; winner claims seat on Friday, Sept. 6

Fri. Sept. 6

Paper Add/Drop closes at 5:00 pm – Last day to request Pass/ Fail grading mode in MyAccess – Registration closes for all students at 11:59 pm in MyAccess

GU-Q,as well as MBA classes and some executive and non-traditional programs will have different start dates. Students in those programs have received appropriate information from their department regarding schedules, waitlists and add/drop.

  • For help or questions about your NetID and password contact the UIS Help Desk at help@georgetown.edu or visit the UIS services in the Leavey Center Bookstore
  • See the Schedule of Classes at https://schedule.georgetown.edu for class offerings, descriptions and syllabi as well as the list of required and recommended books.
  • Once you are registered for a course, you have the option of ordering the books from the Bookstore through MyAccess. It is recommended you check the class syllabus before making a final purchase decision; in some cases, alternate versions of required or recommended texts may be acceptable for your classes. We also urge you to consider textbook rental and book buy-back programs as appropriate.

The waitlist will run each week day at 3 PM until September 5th (excluding holidays). Winners will receive an email from the University Registrar with instructions to claim their seat through MyAccess within 24 hours. After 24 hours, unclaimed seats will be awarded to the next student on the waitlist. Faculty reserve the right to drop students from the waitlist, if they do not attend class during the Add Drop period at the beginning of the term. Please be sure to drop from the waitlist, any class which you no longer want, so that others will be considered in the waitlist process.

FALL 2019 CLASSES BEGIN WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 28, 2019.CLASSES WILL MEET THAT DAY ACCORDING TO A MONDAY SCHEDULE.
