Acadeum Course-Sharing Implementation

Highlights: In collaboration with the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area (CUWMA), the Office of the University Registrar has implemented the Acadeum course-sharing platform. This initiative modernizes the cross-registration process for our students and partner institutions.

This platform addresses a significant administrative gap by transitioning the traditional, paper-heavy consortium registration process into a seamless, fully digital experience.

The implementation is structured in a phased approach to ensure a smooth transition. Phase 1 successfully launched as a pilot strictly for ROTC courses. We have now officially launched Phase 2, which expands the platform to include all course offerings available for consortium registration. Planning is currently underway for Phase 3, which will integrate the Acadeum API directly with our Banner student data system to further streamline the automated process of sending and receiving students via the consortium.

Students now have the ability to easily browse pre-approved courses offered by partner universities, request enrollment directly through a centralized portal, and have their approved credits seamlessly applied to their Georgetown academic record.

Administrators and academic advisors benefit from integrated workflows that ensure courses meet Georgetown’s academic standards and degree requirements before a student is officially enrolled, reducing manual data entry and speeding up processing times.

Project Timeline:

• Phase 1 (Complete): ROTC courses uploaded manually
• Phase 2 (Complete): All consortium course offerings uploaded via Banner API
• Phase 3 (In Progress): Banner Student API integration (In Planning)
