Voter Registration Information For Students

Dear Student,

I write today to bring to your attention information about registration to vote.

The University encourages all students who are eligible to vote in this season’s elections, either in the District of Columbia or in their home state.  As a college student, you might have a choice about where to register to vote.

Students can now find a “Register to Vote/Request Your Absentee Ballot” button under the Personal Information page on MyAccess. This voter portal is a one-stop shop for students interested in exercising their right to vote, and its integration into MyAccess will connect even more Georgetown students with the resources they need as we aim to reach the goal of 100% eligible student voter registration. Developed in partnership with the Andrew Goodman Foundation, this resource will allow students to register to vote from their home state or DC, request an absentee ballot, sign up for election updates, check their registration status, and learn more about the candidates.

GU Votes, GU Politics’ student-led initiative working to enhance the voting culture at Georgetown, has partnered with TurboVote and the Andrew Goodman Foundation to create an easy way for students to register to vote in D.C. or via absentee ballot in their home state. The voter portal can now be found on MyAccess (under the “Personal Information” tab) or by visiting https://andrewgoodman.org/myvoteeverywhere/georgetown-university/. Here, you can register to vote, update your registration address, request an absentee ballot, and more. Contact voting@gmail.com with any questions.

As a reminder, students can mail voter registration and absentee ballot request forms using a Voter Dropbox at any of the following locations, all of which have pre-stamped envelopes available:

  • GU Politics (Healy G-18, beneath the seal)
  • GSP (Healy G-02, beneath the seal)
  • SFS front desk (ICC 301, near the main entrance)
  • The Hilltoss (inside HFSC)
  • Midnight MUG (Lau 2)
  • Uncommon Grounds (2nd floor of the bookstore)
  • La Casa Latina (1320 36th St NW)
  • Asian American HOME (Magis Row)
