During registration, students may add and drop classes through MyAccess.  

Seven Tips to Prepare for Registration

  1. Know your registration time slot which is listed in the important Dates . Your registration date/time is designated by your future expected class level. (This means, for example, if you are currently a sophomore in the spring, your expected class level is a junior for the fall.) {Class Level Video)
  2. Check MyAccess for any Holds in advance of your registration time slot. Holds will prevent you from registering on your scheduled day and time {Holds Video}.
  3. Review the Schedule of Classes.
  4. Review your MyDegree audit to know what remaining requirements are still needed. SCS students should consult their program advisors if they have questions. Contact your academic advisor for help in planning.
  5. Create a schedule that works for you.
  6. Select your classes and prepare a list of CRNs with alternate class options
  7. Login to MyAccess and register at or after your scheduled time. {How to Register Video}

Note: Students should review their schedule before the end of add drop to confirm that they are  properly registered for all classes; including tutorials,  if applicable.

REGISTRATION - ADDING/DROPPING COURSES WITH MYACCESS

Adding Classes

  • Log in to MyAccess.
  • Click on the “Student Services” tab.
  • Click on the “Registration” link.
  • Click on the “Select Term” link. A scroll down box will appear and you may  select the term you would like to register for and then click the “Submit” button.
  • The first time you log in, you may need to review and click through the biographical and personal information before proceeding to register.
  • Click on the “Registration (Add or Drop Courses)” link. 
  • To add a class, go to the  text boxes  on the bottom of  the “Add Classes Worksheet” section. Type the course’s CRN (Course Request Number - this is a five digit number) in the boxes provided and select the "submit changes" button on the bottom of the page.
  • If  the course section is closed (c), you may not register because the class is full. 
  • Review your Student Schedule to confirm you are correctly registered. To review your schedule go to: Student Services->Registration->Student Schedule.

Search for an Open Class Section

  • Log into MyAccess
  • Select  "Registration" tab
  • Select the Term and submit
  • Select "Registration (add, drop, waitlist)" tab
  • Select "Class Search" and go to  the "Advance Search" tab

Dropping a Class

  • To drop a class, click on the “Action” scroll down menu to the left of the CRN number
  • Select “Drop on Web,” and then click on the “Submit Changes” button
  • Review your revised Student Schedule to verify the changes you made are reflected (Go to: Student Services->Registration->Student Schedule)

 

Waitlist Information

 Waitlist Instructions  

Waitlist will run each weekday at 3pm (excluding Holidays)  as seats become available trhough the add drop period.  Winners will receive an email from the University Registrar with instructions to claim their seat through MyAccess within 24 hours. After 24 hours, non-responsive students will lose their seat and will  forfeit that seat to the next student on the waitlist. Therefore, as a best practice, waitlisted students must check email at least once a day even throughout the summer.

Note: Faculty reserve the right to drop students from the waitlist if they do not attend class during the Add Drop period at the beginning of the term.

Withdrawing from a Course

Once the add drop period has passed, students should consult with their advisor if they intend to withdraw.
