How to waitlist for a course

Using MyAccess, students may add themselves to a course, drop a course, or add themselves to a waitlist.

  1. If you are a Winner, click on the Student Tab.
  2. Click on the Add or Drop Courses link. You will then see your Current Schedule displayed. To the left of the CRN of the waitlisted course, select Web Register from the Action drop-down menu.
  3. Click Submit Changes. 
  4. Review your revised Current Schedule to verify the changes you made are reflected. 

Please be sure to drop from the waitlist, any section for which you no longer want, so that others will be considered in the waitlist process. 

If a course is open, you may register immediately for the course.

If a course is closed (C), but has a waitlist, you may add yourself to the waitlist for that course. Select the Waitlist option from the Action dropdown box.

If a course is closed (C) and does not have a waitlist, you will not be able to add yourself to a waitlist. Please contact the instructor for an alternate waitlist procedure.

A waitlist lottery will run each week night during Completion and Add/Drop to determine who has won a space or spaces in the class. Winners will receive an email from the University Registrar with instructions to claim spaces through MyAccess within 24 hours. After 24 hours, non-responsive students will lose their space.

CLAIMING A WAITLIST SEAT

If you have won a seat off a Waitlist, complete the following to claim your seat.  If you are a "Winner", click on the "Student Tab".

  1. Go to Term and select the appropriate term.
  2. Click on the “Add or Drop Courses” link. You will then see your Current Schedule displayed. To the left of the CRN of the waitlisted course, select “Web Register” from the “Action” drop-down menu.
  3. Click “Submit Changes.”
  4. Review your revised Current Schedule to verify the changes you made are reflected.
